Dr. Durlan Castro is a 1993 graduate of New York Chiropractic college. He began practicing Active Release Techniques in 1996. As director of Island Athletic Performance Care, Dr. Castro and his staff of A.R.T providers work on professional and amateur athletes of almost every sport. Dr. Castro has treated notable professional bodybuilders such as Dorian Yates, Ernie Taylor, Greg Kovacs, and Jason Arntz among scores of amateur lifters. Dr. Castro is the exclusive ART Provider for local "Smithtown Soccer League" and continues to work with the Plainedge High School Football team. He routinely works on triathletes and runners and is actively involved in sponsorships at numerous events on Long Island. Dr. Castro is also a contributing editor to magazines such as RXMuscle and Long Island's New Living; writing about injuries and their resolution using the Active Release Techniques.
